33 Coupe Having Fun 23       4/07/09

I've never really seen inside of one of these small aircraft engines before till now. With all the cylinders being placed around the a centerline of the prop, I now have a better understanding of how they work after seeing a cut-away engine that was on display.

Check out the crankshaft/connecting rod that goes in this Radial engine. Also notice all the holes at the one end. This is where all the other connecting rods bolt to it making this a nice compact design. Radial engines can have more than one row of cylinders as well.

I also found out that with this type of engine there will always be an odd number of cylinders. This is so it will run smooth.

The sign says "Airplane rides $5.00". Thanks but no thanks.

This is just one of the many "just in time skydivers" that jumped twice that day. There are up to 30 parachutists in their group and they looked pretty cool.

There was a large display of R C (remote control) planes that were done to perfection. When these guys took to the air and you don't have anything to reference them to, you can't tell them from a real ones.

These little guys sure do handle good when they fly because they don't take up much airspace when the want to turn. If you haven't ever seen one fly before, be sure to check one out sometime because you won't be disappointed.
