One of my favorite car shows to attend every year is held at the
Riverside Municipal Airport called 'Wings and Fins' which is a car show,
air show combo. This was their 19th annual show held on March 26th and
ran from 9am to 4pm but if you had a car in the show, registration was
open at 7am. (which is a good thing for me but more about that later).
There was a pancake breakfast that started at 7am which looked really
good. The car show was open to all American
made cars and trucks and all the proceeds went to Cystic Fibrosis and
other charities. The show is free to the public but they make you pay
for parking which was around 10 bucks.
The amount of aircraft at the show is fantastic and there seems to be
something for everyone because of the large variety. I really like the
vintage aircraft which they had lots of but if you like really fast
fly-by in an F-16 they had that too. The also had all kinds
of Military aircraft and vehicles, R/C model demos, Police K-9 demo
along with the Riverside Police helicopter chase, a carnival, lots of food
and vendors and aerobatics of all kinds.
Everyone received a schedule for the show and the first thing I did
was look to see if they had a P51 Mustang that would be flying but I was out of
luck. However they did have an A-10 Thunderbolt and a P-38 that would fly
later in the day so I didn't want to miss that.
The weather that morning was pretty cool with temps in the low 40's
along with light rain throughout the day, but the good news was there wasn't
much wind which meant they would be good to fly just about everything. As
the day went on, the clouds came and went along with the temps. One
minute it looked like it was going to clear up and the next minute it
was sprinkling again. With the unpredictable weather I ended up rolling
my window up and down throughout the day which seemed like the norm for
		most people.
One of the perks of being in the show is that we get to check in
early before all the spectators arrive. That means I can walk around and
look at things without the large crowds being in the way which helps
		taking some of these pictures.
Speaking of pictures, I took a lot of them and even a few videos that day so you can
see most of what was at the show. I also made the pictures a little
larger this time so if you're on a slow connection, this update won't be
very friendly for you. I posted over 100 pictures so sit back and enjoy
the Riverside Air Show because I sure did!
