Working With Carpet
Each step will need some kind of carpet attached so the cats can
stick the landing. I happen to have some carpet leftover from my 33 Ford
Coupe, which should work great for this.

I clamped each piece in place and used
3/8" long staples to fasten them.
Here is what it looks like. I told Tracey if she finds the cats are
having trouble with so many staples, she can remove a few.

Working With Wood Again
This is going to be a corner piece. The finished size will be 15" X
15" and the front will have a radius.
I used pocket hole screws to hold the sides to the top.
The radius will go from corner to corner so I used my larger compass to
draw my line.
My bandsaw made quick work of this.

It's Finished
After a little sanding and carpet work, this piece is done.
I made one custom support in the center that uses three screws that goes
into the top, and two screws from the back. I didn't put any mounting
holes in this piece intentionally. This way she can drill the holes
anywhere she wants.
A view from one of the sides. You can see the pocket
hole screws along with two screws for one of the smaller supports. If
you look close, you can see the countersinks for the two screws at the
rear that help hold the center support.
