Here are the smaller steps.

I put two mounting holes at each end that are just over 1/4". I mentioned that some toggle bolts should work good for mounting these.

Once the back is mounted to the wall, the top surface is supported by this piece, along with the two supports. I hope they work for her and if they do, I'll post some pictures of her cats using them.
