| I thought my luck had changed because
I was on my last set of valves and then this happens. A small hole was
in one of the intake seats.....I hate when that happens. I guess 15 out
of 16 isn't to bad though. It was a good thing I checked these because I
might not have seen this as it blends in when there's no red on
anything. I could run it this way but I won't so It's off to my buddy
Gary's house to fix this on his valve grinding machine. It shouldn't
take but a minute to fix and then I can put them back together. So for
now, I'll talk about something else and get back to the heads later.

      | Remember awhile back when I had all
that trouble with CompCams and there stud girdle. I finally received a
small package from them the other day and guess what was inside??? My
rocker stud and it was the right size too!! I didn't really think I
would ever get this shipped to me but there it is. I guess the sun
shines on a dogs ass once in awhile.

      | I also received another box and it had
a few other goodies in it. First we have some new battery cables. These
are made by Painless (like my wiring harness) and are the cut-and-fit
kind. This means you get 15 feet of red (positive) cable and 3 feet of
black (negative) cable. The battery will be mounted in the trunk so this
is why the one cable is so long. What you do is install it, then cut it
to the exact length you need and put on one of the copper ends supplied
with it. The size of the wire is #1 gage which is big because most
battery cables are only #2 (wire size gets larger when the numbers get
smaller). They even came with side post adapters if needed.

      | Here we have my new ignition coil.
This coil has a little different shape to it but should work better than
the old one that I sent back. It has more energy output and has the coil
wire located on the opposite side of the unit than the electrical wires.
It gets held down with three screws and all are rubber mounted. It even
comes with the coil wire boot. This will go under the dash later on and
only the coil wire will go through the firewall.
