On Sunday, Nov. 12, Larry and I also went to Bob's
Big Boy over in Calimesa which is going to be their last show of 2006. I
couldn't believe how many cars showed up for this one because they
filled the whole parking lot and then some. There were so many cars there
that they had to place the rest of them down the center, two rows deep
between all the others. And towards the time the show was going to
start, they had even more cars on the outside of the taped off area all
the way to the street. You would think this was the first car show of
the year with so many people there, not the last one.
I almost didn't go to this show because I thought
it was the following weekend. Larry called me a couple of hours before
the show started and asked me if I was going. If he wouldn't have
called, I would've missed it. I had a short time to get the car ready
and once I did, I hit the road and parked next to my buddy Larry. Well
that's the good news, the bad news is I forgot to bring my camera.
There were a few cars I've never seen before that were pretty nice and I'll be sure to bring my camera to the next show
that Bob's Big Boy has. I won an award that evening which was "Runner
Up". The size of it is 4" X 6" and the base is larger
than the top so it will stand upright. There were 10 of these given out along with
10 "Top
Ten" and one "Best of Show". Larry and I didn't win
anything in the raffle or the 50/50 but we both had a good time, as
always. The end of the car show season
is coming to a close but I did get a few flyers that day showing where a
few more shows are going to be before the end of the year. That's the
nice thing about living in California, the weather is so nice that
people can attend car shows almost all year long. The rain doesn't start
here till about the middle or end of December so maybe we'll be able to
be at a few more.
