On Saturday, July 19th, the Redlands Optimist Car Show and chili
cook-off was held at Sylvan Park in Redlands, Ca. This was their 19th
annual show and is really nice because it's on the grass and under the
trees which makes for a nice setting and lots of shade. The weather was
clear with temps in the mid 90's which made for a beautiful day that
brought in over 300 cars.
The show had a live band, huge raffle (which included an engine being
given away), 50/50 drawing and lots of vendors. The gates opened at 7:00
am and we showed up a half hour later. Why so late, because our good
buddy Larry saved us a spot as we got out of town late. The show hours
ran from 8 am. till 2 pm. and all of the proceeds went to youth
programs. Your entry also included a T-shirt along with a dash plaque.
This show has over 100 categories to enter into, depending if it's a car,
truck or motorcycle. And the class I went with this year was Best Street
Rod, so let's see what happens. Larry has only one choice, which is 70 to 72
Camaro.
I'm going to make this more like a slide show with very little
commentary, because there were so many
cars that showed up, so sit back and enjoy the pictures.
