After looking at the front 4 link
brackets, they looked like they could use some beefing-up so I made some
gussets to brace them with because this area will be getting pushed
forward (the front of the car is to the left) when power is going to the rear wheels. The material I'll be
using is 1/4" thick mild steel because the existing brackets were
made out of the same material and thickness.

Here you can see the shape of the
gussets. The ones on the right will be welded on first. They will be spanning
across the two brackets hanging down in the upper picture. Then the
other one will be welded between the frame rail and the first one.
Notice the small angle on the right gusset. That's for clearance on the existing
weld that's on the chassis.

I made the wall thickness around the large hole
the same on
all three sides if you look close. That same thickness runs the length
of the gusset on both sides of all the holes which is .300". It's the details that make the difference when
doing something like this, even if it is under the car.

Here they are welded up and ready to
attach to the chassis. The weld didn't come out as nice as I would have
liked but on the other hand, they shouldn't break either. After I get them welded on, I'll show
you how it looks and it should provide a little extra strength to the
4-link system.
