The first piece for the car was the
chassis (frame). I ordered it from a company called
TCI (Total Cost
Involved) which makes one of the best rolling chassis' on the market, if
not the best. Your options are almost unlimited to what you can buy and
I got most of them. I figured.....why not!! Now I wanted some big tires
to fit under the rear fenders so one of the things I did was ordered the
Pro Street chassis which has room for larger tires with a narrowed rear
end and frame rails. The tire width I will be able to use is a
16.5". You give up trunk space by doing this but that didn't matter
to me. This chassis has lots of threaded inserts already in it to bolt
the body and fenders on. This is a nice feature not to mention a time
saver. I had a choice to go with a straight axle or Independent Front
Suspension. I went with the IFS because it should ride and handle a
little better. Power booster & master cylinder are standard on this
setup and is inside the frame which will be hidden under the body for a
clean look in the engine compartment. It even comes with a stop light
switch, brake pedal and proportional valve. Engine and trans mounts are
setup for a small block Chevy and Turbo 400 trans.
Here is a list of options that I got:
- Stainless steel brake lines with AN fittings
- 4 wheel disk brakes w/emergency brake
- Front and rear Stainless steel brake hoses
- Polished
Wilwood
brake calipers front & rear
- Polished front spindles
- Polished Stainless steel 4 link bars
- All American Polished adjustable coil-over
shocks front & rear
- Polished Stainless steel A arms
- Polished Stainless steel front sway-bar
- Chromed track bar
- Chromed rear sway-bar
- 9" Ford rear end, 4:56 gears, Posi-Unit,
31 spline
Currie
axels
- Custom frame mounts for overdrive unit
- Lots of chrome and polished bolts, nuts and
washers
As you can see I got lots of options. They call this the
chrome/stainless package along with some other extras. Lets take a peak
at what all this looks like.
